Coaching Terms & Conditions

Guidelines

Coaching is an ongoing relationship between individuals who want to coach and be coached.

They understand and agree to the following

Coaching is for people who are basically well adjusted, emotionally healthy, functioning effectively, and wanting to make changes in their lives. Coaching is about dealing with current challenges and looking ahead.

Coaching is designed to address issues that the person being coached would like to consider, and it is the participant’s responsibility to act on these issues. The issues could include, but not be limited to, career development, relationship enhancement, spiritual growth, lifestyle management, life balance, decision-making, and achieving  long and short-term goals.

A client can decide to terminate at any time, however once registered for this workshop,  your registration fee is non-refundable.

Coaching may involve brainstorming, values clarification, readings, goal setting, identifying  plans of action, accountability, agreements to change behavior, and examining though patterns.

Coaching is most effective when all parties are honest and straightforward in their  communication.

Coaching is a confidential relationship in which the participants agree to keep all information strictly confidential, except in those situations where such confidentiality would violate  the law or cause hurt or harm.

Coaching assumes that participants are honest in identifying their points of view but do not seek to force these on others, proselytize, or condemn those who do not share similar values and beliefs.

Coaching is not therapy

I assume that a client is mentally healthy, and therefore, I do not tread on emotional issues that require the skills of a therapist.

Confidentiality

I abide by the ICF Code of Ethics, and your privacy and confidentiality are extremely important to me. When a client pays for his or her own coaching session, whatever is discussed is deemed private.  If an organization pays me to coach an individual, then information specifically related to the situation/problem might be shared with the manager but only with my client’s knowledge. Anything related to my client’s personal life would be kept confidential.  Clients should be aware that notes kept of coaching sessions are not legally privileged and are more easily obtained in the event of legal action.

Procedures

This is a two-hour workshop, which will be held once a week for six weeks.  Individual sessions will be for 50 min. and will be conducted either face-to-face or by phone.
